When we see random(Scatter) things we plan to organize them, and then we think how we can do that in a simple way to solve it, so here comes the main word scatter. Then we plan to make “scatter” word in the PLOT(diagram) form, which makes things to understand more easily to solve them with day-to-day work.

So now, let’s first understand Scatter Plot. A Scatter (XY) Plot has points that show the Correlation between two sets of data.
In scatter plot chart, we use horizontal and vertical axes to plot data points. Scatter plots show how much one variable is correlated by another. The relationship between two variables is called their correlation.

Different Types of Scatter Plot Charts.

  • Positive Correlation
  • Negative Correlation
  • None

Steps to Make Scatter Plot:

  • Select the data that you want to plot on the scatter chart.
  • On the Insert tab, in the Charts group, click Scatter.
  • Click Scatter with only Markers.
  • Click the chart area of the chart.
  • On the Design tab, in the Chart Styles group, click the chart style that you want to use.

Exercise:

An online retail company has captured the sales data of three products (Gold, Iron, and Silver) across states of united states. Management is interested to see the correlation between quant variables like Sales, Profit, Discount, and Cost.

Reporting team has decided to create the scatter plot chart with two combo box controls and three checkbox controls. In two combo box control user will select the variable and checkbox will help them to analyze which product scattering they want to see.
