If you don’t want to save your work on Microsoft’s websites and you are looking for an on-premise solution you can go for Power BI Server instead of Power BI services. This is also a paid product. On Power BI Server we have to manage the infrastructure.
Power BI Mobile App: When we publish our reports and dashboards on power BI services, we can access the same using the Power BI Mobile app. We can download Power BI mobile app for android, IOS, and windows from the market place. On mobile apps, we also get the push notifications for data alerts for all the reports for which we have access to power BI Services.
Power BI Architecture:
Using Power BI Desktop, we prepare our reports then we publish our reports on Power BI Services. As power BI services are app.powerBI.com it’s a website, so the user can access the website using any device like laptop, mobile or desktops. We can direct our data sources to Power BI Services. Now to make our services a Self-BI, for a job like scheduling, refresh we have to install the Power BI gateways. As app.powerBI.com is Microsoft’s website, so they can’ access out organizational servers for that we install Power BI Gateway’s within our infrastructure. Power BI Gateway acts as a bridge between Power BI services and our organizational data sources.
